Our Staff

My name is Hannah Ulrich and I have been with Belmont Soil and Water since

June of 2017. I started out as the Administrative Assistant and have since been promoted to District Program Administrator.

When I’m not busy helping with programs and prepping for board meetings, I enjoy spending time outdoors, listening to music, bird watching and traveling.

My name is Turner Provost and I recently started as the Captina Watershed Coordinator at Belmont SWCD.

I have a bachelor's degree from Ohio University in Exercise Physiology, but realized my passion is the outdoors, so now I'm studying Fish and Wildlife Science through Oregon State University. In my off time I enjoy hunting, fishing and hiking with my family.

My name is Sterling Brumfield. I’ve been the wildlife specialist with Belmont SWCD since 2020.

I graduated from Hocking College with an associates of science in wildlife resources management.

I grew up in the outdoors and continue to spend most of my time there. That is what started my continued love for conservation. In my time away from work I enjoy hunting, fishing, and rally racing.

I am happy to serve Belmont County with any wildlife-related concerns!

My name is Samantha Hearn and I have worked here at Soil and Water since 2015. I started out as the Agriculture Technician and have since became the Agriculture and Education Specialist. I am a graduate of Ohio University Eastern with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. Shortly after graduating I realized my passion was not in health care but in natural resources and thankfully found Belmont Soil and Water.

I grew up on a pumpkin and cattle farm near Somerton and have lived in Belmont County my whole life. I now live with my husband Jake and sons Lucas & Logan on the family farm with our 2 dogs, 4 cats, 20 chickens and 2 rabbits.

I am a member of the Belmont County Master Gardeners and I am an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. When I’m not teaching in schools or meeting with landowners at work, I enjoy gardening, baking, photography and identifying absolutely everything I see in nature.
